Chromosome painting: How recombination mixes ancestral colors

چکیده
We consider a Moran model with recombination in haploid population of size N. At each birth event, probability 1−ρNR the offspring copies one parent’s chromosome, and ρNR she inherits chromosome that is mosaic both parental chromosomes. assume at time 0 individual has her painted different color we study partition asymptotically fixed large population, when look portion such ρ:=limN→∞ρNN 2→∞. To do so, follow backwards ancestry randomly sampled individual. This yields Markov process valued partitions half-line, was introduced by Esser, Probst Baake (J. Math. Biol. 73 (2016) 161–197), which blocks can merge split, called partitioning process. Its stationary distribution closely related to our recombination. are able provide an approximation this ρ≫1 error bound. allows us show (renormalised) length leftmost block (i.e., region carries same as 0) converges exponential distribution. In addition, geometry be described terms Poisson point explicit intensity measure.

Chromosome Painting in Marsupials.
To generate a model of mammalian karyotype evolution and to extend our knowledge of the evolutionary relationships of mammals, it is helpful to deduce ancestral chromosomal arrangements. Of particular interest would be a global comparison among the 3 major extant groups of mammals, since this would reveal the most ancient arrangements of the mammalian genome and allow us to follow chromosomal r...
متن کاملReciprocal chromosome painting among human, aardvark, and elephant (superorder Afrotheria) reveals the likely eutherian ancestral karyotype.
The Afrotheria, a supraordinal grouping of mammals whose radiation is rooted in Africa, is strongly supported by DNA sequence data but not by their disparate anatomical features. We have used flow-sorted human, aardvark, and African elephant chromosome painting probes and applied reciprocal painting schemes to representatives of two of the Afrotherian orders, the Tubulidentata (aardvark) and Pr...
متن کاملSingle-crossover recombination and ancestral recombination trees.
We consider the Wright-Fisher model for a population of [Formula: see text] individuals, each identified with a sequence of a finite number of sites, and single-crossover recombination between them. We trace back the ancestry of single individuals from the present population. In the [Formula: see text] limit without rescaling of parameters or time, this ancestral process is described by a rando...
متن کاملConstructing Minimal Ancestral Recombination Graphs
By viewing the ancestral recombination graph as defining a sequence of trees, we show how possible evolutionary histories consistent with given data can be constructed using the minimum number of recombination events. In contrast to previously known methods, which yield only estimated lower bounds, our method of detecting recombination always gives the minimum number of recombination events if ...
متن کاملChromosome painting: a useful art.
Chromosome 'painting' refers to the hybridization of fluorescently labeled chromosome-specific, composite probe pools to cytological preparations. Chromosome painting allows the visualization of individual chromosomes in metaphase or interphase cells and the identification of both numerical and structural chromosomal aberrations in human pathology with high sensitivity and specificity. In addit...
